Explore paint and painting as an alchemic and metaphysical experience in a special series of workshops designed by renowned local artists, Annemarie Murland and Pablo Tapia.

In this first module, Pablo and Annemarie will take you through strategies and techniques to help you generate ideas and attach meaning to what you do.

Over 3 hours they will cover:

◦ Doddling as a form of expression

◦ Mark Making I, an introduction to learning a visual language

◦ Sketching the real world [Pablo]
◦ Marking Making II, developing an internal dialogue [Annemarie]
◦ Inspiration, how to give your ideas form [Pablo]

ANNE MARIE MURLAND is an internationally exhibiting interdisciplinary visual artist and educator who specialises in ideas-led research in studio practice.

Workshop Schedule

This workshop will run on Saturday 15 June from 10-1 pm. Please contact the artists directly for bookings. The workshop cost is $150.

WHAT TO BRING

◦ Artist Journal A4/A3
◦ Glue Stick and Scissors
◦ A selection of different papers and magazine/newspaper cutouts of things you like
◦ 1 stick of willow charcoal & 1 stick of
compressed charcoal
◦ 2B or HB Graphite pencil or graphite stick, and a water-soluble marker
◦ A selection of watercolour pencils and a soft brush
◦ some rags, jar
