In this 4 hour intensive beginners workshop, we will cover the foundations of weaving, including how to warp your loom correctly, the appropriate materials to use and what to avoid.

We will be playing with some beautiful Australian wools and fibre, most of which is hand dyed by Rainie. We will run through what fibres are best used for weaving and the different applications for these fibres to create texture and interest in your pieces.

You will learn various weaving techniques to create your woven sampler including plain/tabby weave, geometric shapes, rya knots, soumak, weaving with roving and many more! Last but not least, you will be taught the crucial technique of taking your finished piece off your loom.

Rainies workshops are pressure free and have a fun, relaxed vibe allowing you to work at your own pace. Places are limited, meaning there will be time for one-on-one assistance as you need it.
