Join Lauren May SK for this special watercolour workshop where she will guide you, step-by-step, through painting a beautiful, realistic rose. Learn the skills you need to capture details, create depth and bring to life this beloved flower.

With personalized guidance and plenty of tips, you’ll leave with the skills and confidence to paint your own realistic floral masterpieces at home.

Lauren will guide you through techniques such as wet-in-wet, 'dropping in' and wet on dry painting to build up a realistic style of artwork.

All skill levels are welcome though a little familiarity with working with watercolours will be helpful.

All materials will be provided as well as a rose for you to keep!

Lauren is a natural history artist specialising in botanical illustration based in the Lake Macquarie region. She seeks inspiration from the natural world and recreates that beauty using pencils, paper and watercolours.

Lauren has a Bachelor of Natural History Illustration (Grade I Honours) from the University of Newcastle. Her botanical art pieces are held in collections of the Sydney Florilegium Botanical Art Society as well as the Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh, US. Lauren is a member of the prestigious Sydney Florilegium and the Botanical Art Society of Australia.

Workshop Schedule

This is a 3hr hour workshop to be held on Sunday, 4th May from 1-4pm.
