The Poetry Bomb is a worldwide movement aimed at filling as many public spaces with poetry as humanly possible. The Bomb is set to explode here at Hudson Street Hum on the last Sunday in April! Come along, sing, rap or just read...no rules, open mic, great opportunity for self promotion if you have a book/s or album to launch or sell!! Or just come along to experience poetry and spoken word from Newcastle's best, brightest and bravest!

Janette Hoppe is the host and organiser of the Poetry Bomb event at Hudson Street Hum. Janette's poetry is a reflection of her Australian and New Zealand Maori heritage. Her work has been published in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In 2011 Janette launched Papatuanuku Press, an underground publishing project that creates poetry events and books that raise funds to support charities such as Beyond Blue and Women's refuges.

Workshop Schedule

Poetry Bomb is a free, inclusive event with an open mic format so please register your name FROM 3PM if you wish to perform. Hudson Street Hum is a wheelchair accessible venue.
