Join celebrated artist Rachel Milne for a hands-on, inspiring 4-week beginner Still Life Painting series designed for those new to painting or looking to refresh their skills in a supportive, creative environment.
Over four weeks, students learn how to observe proportion, shape, tone, and colour relationships.
Students are introduced to tonal values through monochromatic painting exercises, learning how light defines form and creates depth. Rachel demonstrates how to construct a balanced composition using simple objects — and how negative space contributes to visual harmony.
Technical instruction includes paint handling, brush selection, surface preparation, and layering techniques.
The emphasis is not on perfection, but on confidence — building the courage to trust observation and embrace process.
