Hudson Street Hum is delighted to present a painting masterclass as part of the New Annual Festival. The workshop will pay homage to the great Van Gogh with a Newcastle twist. Experienced local artists and educators; Peter Lankas and Yvette Ten Bohmer will take you on a journey through Van Gogh’s painting techniques and his fascinating life, as you create your own unique painting celebrating a local Newcastle scene that means something to you.
This workshop is all about combining history, technique, playfulness and your own sense of place to create a unique body of work. The works will then be exhibited at Hudson Street Hum for the duration of the New Annual festival.
No skills required, just a willingness to enjoy! This 2-hour masterclass is suitable for 16+.
Peter currently teaches painting and drawing at the Newcastle Art School (TAFE) and regularly conducts sell-out workshops throughout the Hunter region and the Central coast.
Yvette studied Fine Arts at the National Art School, Sydney.
