Join Peter Lankas in a special Masterclass exploring ancient, solvent-free paint-making techniques attributed to old masters such as the Van Eyck brothers, Rubens, Rembrandt and Velasquez. Peter has been using this technique for over 15 years. This ancient and yet amazingly simple process allows use of oil paints without any solvents or commercial toxic painting mediums, substituting completely natural organic materials.
The Masterclass concisely covers the materials needed for this process, how to make organic fast drying oil, as well as emulsions, paint mediums, glazes, impasto paint and final oil-outs and natural varnishes. You will also learn how easy it is to make paint using natural pigments. This painting process is easily applicable to any existing commercial oil paint.
The workshop is divided into two parts.
1. Background history and a complete step by step practical and technical demonstration of the painting process.
2. Second part of the workshop covers student practical experimentation with the process, mentored by the tutor. This workshop is suitable for beginners through to experienced artists looking to explore new approaches to art making. Peter's class sizes are small, ensuring you receive the individual assistance you need. The work done using this process can be viewed on his website: www.peterlankas.com
