Capture the beauty of our local coastal beaches using soft pastels with spirit washes in this very special workshop inspired by the sweeping coastal shorelines around Newcastle. Join award-winning local artist Gwendolin Lewis, a true master, to explore this beautiful and versatile medium which has been described as like 'painting and drawing at the same time'.
This workshop is suitable for people with some drawing experience wanting to try something new through to more experienced pastel artists.

About Artists Bio
Gwendolin Lewis is an award-winning pastel artist with over 10 years teaching experience. Her beautiful, evocative sea and landscapes capture the emotional essence of a subject, the atmospheric effect of weather or simply the time of day.
She is a graduate of Swinburne College of Graphic Art and Design (Melbourne) and has a degree in Fine Art majoring in painting at Newcastle University. Gwendolin teaches workshops in and around Newcastle, Maitland and Sydney and exhibits her work widely.

Workshop Schedule
This is a 3 hour workshop with morning tea.

What to bring:
Bring your own soft pastels if you have them (not oil pastels). We will send you a list of preferred colours after you book.
If you don't have your own pastels, don't stress we have some basic beginners sets for you to use. Just let us know :)
Small towel or wipes for hands.
