This medium is vibrant and versatile, offering you a wide range of textures, colours and consistences. Jane will share her expertise, teaching you how to create portraits using both brush and palette knife techniques. You'll gain confidence mixing colours, building layers, blending and using glazing techniques to add new depth to your portrait work.
In these guided classes run over four weeks, you'll learn to take small risks often to increase your confidence, develop your skill and find reward in your creative development.
About Jane Lander
Jane has an established practice with over 30 years experience. Her work is held in many collections including the Newcastle Art Gallery, Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery, Maitland Art Gallery, Muswellbrook Art Gallery and Broken Hill Art Gallery. Lander has been a finalist in many national prizes including The Dobell Drawing Prize, The Blake Travelling Art Prize, The NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting prize and The Kilgour Art Prize, now held annually at Newcastle Art Gallery. Most recently Jane won the 2022 Newcastle Club Foundation Art Prize.
Workshop Schedule
This workshop runs over four (4) weeks on Thursday mornings starting on 16 March through until 6 April.
