Introducing the Painting Nature Workshop Series - a unique opportunity for nature lovers and creatives alike to immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world while learning the art of painting.
Guided by artist and educator, Martha Moderitz, this workshop series is designed to help you build your skills and confidence as you learn to create and paint your own botanical composition.
Over 4 evenings Martha will guide you in: - Simple breathing and visualisation techniques to contemplate on and connect to the beauty and harmony of nature
- Seeing simple forms and shapes in complex objects in nature
- Techniques for sketching flowers and foliage using pencil and brush
- Basic colour theory and creating a palette for a composition
- A variety of painting techniques using watercolour and gouache
- Learning a process for building and completing an artistic representation of a botanical composition
Whether you are looking to expand your art practice or a nature enthusiast interested in exploring the world of painting, the Painting Nature Workshop Series is the perfect opportunity to connect with nature, develop your artistic abilities, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals.
Please note that this workshop will be held in our loft space which is accessible by stairs.Martha graduated with a Masters in Traditional Arts from the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London, where she subsequently worked on the School’s international outreach programme. Martha received The Bagri Foundation Prize in 2017 for an original composition and her work is owned by private collectors in both the UK and Australia.
Workshop Schedule
This is a 2.5hr hour weekly class running over 4 weeks which will be held in the Loft space at Hudson Street Hum.
