Kites are a universal symbol of hope, freedom and renewal. Join Nina Katzmarski and Hudson Street Hum for this special kite-making workshop with all funds going directly to help people and wildlife suffering as a result of the bushfire tragedy. This all-ages workshop will give you the opportunity to come together and work with others on a large communal kite as well as make your own individual kite.
This workshop is suitable for all ages but children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Drop off is fine for older children.
About Nina Katzmarski

Nina is an artist, designer, bookmaker and the founder of Katinka Press. She has worked for many years combining social work with the creative arts in Europe, Asia and Australia. Born in an East German town as the daughter of a journalist and art teacher, stories and fine art have always been a large part of Nina’s life. She spent some years wandering and travelling the world and experiencing a diverse range of cultures. Nina studied 3 years of visual arts in Amsterdam (Gerrit Rietveld Academy) and Prague (AAAD). In addition she gained a Degree in Social Work in Berlin (Alice Salomon Hochschule) - before migrating to Australia where she received a Masters in Design at COFA (College of Fine Arts) in Sydney.

Workshop Schedule
This is a 2.5 hour workshop. All materials, teacher time and the use of Hudson Street Hum has been donated so 100% of the workshop price will go to charity. 50% of your donation will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and 50% will go to WIRES wildlife carer network. Our target is to raise $1000 on the day. Additional donations will be gratefully received. All participants will be emailed proof of the donation.
Nina's daughter will also be selling home-made snacks for a gold coin donation :)
