Join textile artist Amanda Donohue to learn about the traditional and beautiful art of shibori and indigo dyeing. In this workshop you will create your own linen scarf, which you can gift (or just keep for yourself!), plus a small sample piece suitable for framing or combining into some other project.

Shibori dyeing is a way of making patterns on fabric by exposing only some portions of the fabric to dye. Tie, pinch, fold, concertina, clamp and stitch your fabric before dyeing it to create your own unique piece. This workshop is a great opportunity to experience this ancient handmade process and have fun learning how to continue these traditional crafts.

The workshop will include a brief introduction to Shibori Dying during which you will discover different ways to bind and tie your fabric. Once this is completed you will dye your pieces - soaking, dyeing, oxidising and rinsing.

All materials and equipment are provided and there will be plenty of examples available as inspiration.
