Needle Lace is a beautiful, versatile craft that has ancient roots stretching back to the 16th century. It is a rich and detailed craft, slow and mindful, and based on simple principles, so it’s easy to pick up.
Join local artist Maggie Hensel-Brown for this weekend workshop over 4 hours each day, where you will cover all the basics to get you started making a needle lace sampler. We'll cover setting up your piece, stitching a series of basic stitches, combining and experimenting with techniques.
You'll walk away with a detailed sampler and a BUNCH of new needle-wielding skills. All materials will be provided; needles, threads, backing materials, patterns and written instructions. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels.
