This exhibition by Nina Katzmarski is a mixture of life review work and playful nonsense inspired by nostalgia and childhood memories. Her work reflects on her upbringing in east Germany and the ambivalent longing for a country gone. Furthermore it explores the meaning of “Heimat” as a place of belonging in a contemporary context through the eyes of a Migrant. Nina's primary medium is illustration with interactive elements. On the opening night there will be a drop-in art workshop for children and adults, art to play with, soup and music.
Please join Nina and family for opening night on Saturday, 31 August 5-8pm.
