About Studio Tinta
About Studio Tinta
Founded in Melbourne, Australia by Katie Wilkins, Studio Tinta was created as an outlet for her experiments in natural dyeing. Studio Tinta began as a slow textiles studio selling hand-dyed and hand-painted pillowcases and homewares made with natural fibres and plant dyes.

After three years of selling at markets including Finders Keepers in Sydney and Melbourne, and via the online store, Studio Tinta was frequently selling out of each batch of pillowcases and was featured in media like Frankie, Peppermint Magazine, Broadsheet and Vogue.

Katie realised that many of her customers not only wanted to purchase hand-dyed textiles, but they had a desire to learn the art of natural dyeing themselves. So, she decided to provide Natural Dye Kits, and create Natural Dye School: a fully online, self-paced course that teaches students all over the world how to dye with confidence, paint with plants and create unique textiles.

Studio Tinta is now located on Awabakal land in New South Wales, Australia, and is committed to providing excellent natural dye education that encourages people to learn how to reuse, upcycle and save textiles from landfill using sustainable methods.
