This workshop is sold out
This workshop offers an introduction to gouache, a versatile medium that can be used with, and similarly to watercolour, and also showing attributes of an acrylic with its bolder colour, smooth texture, and blending abilities. Gouache has traditionally been used by botanical artists, illustrators, and in eastern painting traditions.
In this workshop, you will paint a floral composition of your own- if you prefer to use a template, Martha will also have these available. Martha will guide you through techniques for using gouache, including methods for applying washes and base colour, making tonal variations, wet and dry brush techniques, applying finer details, blending and creating harmonious colour, and tips and tricks to help build a strong skill base in painting techniques.
This workshop is ideal for those keen to explore this natural and beautiful medium to learn and develop their brush technique.
