Join artist and educator, Yvette Ten-Bohmer, on a creative journey exploring the beauty of the human form. In this 5 week course you will learn to draw the human figure with an in situ life model.

Each week we will focus on different topics and approaches to enable for deep learning. We will learn how to deconstruct the model in the pose using elements such as:

*How to capture the model quickly using gesture and raw mark making

*Measuring the model

*Basic anatomy

*How to find and apply essential angles

*Perspective including foreshortening

*How to use light and dark (shades/tones)

*Composition

*Construction of 3D form on 2D surface

Yvette is passionate about the visual arts and through her energy and flare she inspires us to express our shared human experience. This is a unique opportunity for anyone who is interested in drawing the human form but not sure where to begin. These classes are suitable for all skill levels from beginners through to those wishing to develop or refresh their skills.

About Yvette Ten-Bohmer
Growing up in Newcastle, Yvette completed an Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts at Newcastle Art School. Yvette found this course to be just the beginning of her life passion in exploring creative expression through the study of the human form. Yvette went on to study a BA Fine Arts at the National Art School, Sydney. Upon completing her studies Yvette has continued to work as an artist, exhibiting regularly in Sydney and Melbourne and also working as a teacher, inspiring students to seek their own creative expression. In 2011 Yvette won the prestigious John Olsen Prize for Life Drawing.

Workshop Schedule

This workshop runs on Sundays for 5 weeks from 3pm to 5pm.

Workshop is on Sunday 16th May, 23rd May, 30th May, 6th June and 20th June. Please note there is no workshop on 13th June due to long weekend. What you get:

- Expert knowledge and tuition from an experienced artist and educator in Life Drawing.
- Life Drawing model
- Assorted charcoal: willow-condensed - Graphite pencils - Selection of paper - Extensive notes
