Traditional Still Life: Drawing for Accuracy
This 4-week course guided by Pablo Tapia will introduce students to classical still life drawing principles, tools and methodologies with an emphasis on achieving accuracy and the illusion of 3 dimensionality.
Students will step through a series of exercises which teach fundamental 2D art concepts from the classical tradition. Throughout the course artists will build skills and a solid understanding of a straightforward and effective drawing system. This is a proven method, developed over centuries to draw anything the artist observes with accuracy and focusing on the illusion of 3D; two core objectives of western art since the renaissance period.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an experienced artist and teacher to develop your technical drawing skills. At Hudson Street Hum we welcome all skill levels and abilities and aim to provide a friendly, supportive environment.

With a background in Renaissance methods and the Australian Tonal Impressionist System plus many years of teaching experience, Pablo has a deep understanding of drawing and painting strategies, material technology and how to help aspiring artists to conquer the typical hurdles of image making so they are able to express their ideas and feelings with full freedom and artistic mastery.
Workshop Schedule
This is a 4 week course run on Sunday afternoons from 3-5pm during June. It will run on 2nd, 16th, 23rd and 28th of June.
