Join Amanda Donohue for a creative workshop exploring and learning how to use different hand embroidery and embellishment stitching techniques. Learn about different methods including Japanese sashiko and boro, plus other traditional embroidery stitches.
Participants will create a small decorative item (fish, bird, star, heart) from felt or other fabrics such as cotton and linen.
A variety of fabrics, lace, buttons and threads will be available for you to chose from, and all necessary equipment will be provided. If you have any particular fabric you want to use, or if you have your own needlework kit, please feel free to bring it along.
This 2 hour workshop is a great opportunity to enjoy handmade processes in a relaxed environment and have fun learning how to continue traditional crafts.
No experience is needed, beginners are welcome.
