Join renowned local Artist Pablo Tapia in this workshop for artists and students seeking a modern, effective and straightforward colour system to enable them to analyse their subject with precision and mix their paints with true confidence.
In this two-hour intensive workshop, participants will acquire the theory and colour mixing skills needed to gain control of their creative process.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an experienced artist and teacher to develop your colour mixing skills. At Hudson Street Hum we aim to provide a friendly, supportive learning environment. This workshop is suitable for beginner painters through to more experienced painters wishing to hone their colour mixing skills.
About Pablo Tapia
PABLO TAPIA is a Chilean-born, Newcastle-based artist and teacher. Following a Masters in Fine Arts, Pablo continued training in Renaissance methodologies in the Australian Tonal Impressionist tradition at private institutions in Sydney. This long apprenticeship culminated with an APA scholarship to do a Master Degree by research. He is a highly sought-after teacher and one of the last tonal impressionists with links to Max Meldrum, the founder of Australian tonalism. Pablo has been a regular finalist in the Kilgour and Doug Moran Portrait Prize.
Workshop Schedule
This is a 2 hour intensive workshop on Sunday 29 March.
What you get:
You'll receive expert guidance and tuition from a nationally recognised, award-winning painter.
You'll take home a series of skills and techniques to inform and help develop your own practice.
Acrylic paints, A3 size canvas pads and basic palette knives
Afternoon tea provided.
What to bring:
Painting knife (metal blade with bent neck and diamond or tear shaped head, mid or small size)
Mixing knife (metal blade, straight and flexible with round tip, mid size)
While basic materials and tools will be supplied, feel free to bring from home.
