Join artist and educator, Jane Lander, over 4 Thursday mornings to explore the intersecting worlds of colour and composition in painting. Jane will guide you through a practical approach to applying the fundamentals of colour theory to the compositional elements in your own painting practice.

In this series you will build your own colour palette that reflects you. You will explore cool and warm palettes and how this impacts composition. Participants will learn when and where to use transparent and opaque colours and the role they play in building drama and perspective in your painting. We will discuss the role that colour has in determining the mood, atmosphere, and perspective of a work and complete practical exercises on how to use colour to enhance your composition.

Throughout the course, you'll engage in hands-on painting sessions using acrylic paints. The goal of the course is to provide a solid understanding of the relationship between colour and composition and the ability to apply these principles to your own paintings.
