Join award-winning artist, Jane Lander, in a two week Portrait Drawing series. In these sessions you will enjoy hands-on exploration of the techniques, principles, and artistic concepts involved in creating captivating and lifelike portraits. Whether you are a beginner seeking to master the fundamental skills or an intermediate artist aiming to refine your abilities, this course will provide you with a solid foundation and advanced techniques to create your own portrait artworks.

You will explore different elements of portraiture including capturing likeness, mastering pencil and charcoal techniques and introducing colour with pastels.

We will have 1 session with a professional clothed model. Using a life model for portraiture offers the advantage of allowing you to capture intricate details, subtleties of expression, and nuanced lighting that photographs often miss.

Over the course of two weeks you will have developed a proficiency in portrait drawing, along with the ability to convey emotions and capture the essence of your subject in your artwork.
