Are you a nature lover and curious to explore the wonders of our natural world creatively? YES, then join us for a very special workshop with Canberra based natural history illustrator, Bonnie Koopmans. Bonnie completed a degree in Natural History Illustration at the University of Newcastle and loves all aspects of nature.

Bonnie will be back in Newcastle for a one-off workshop where she will step you through the process of creating your own 'Birds in Watercolour'. In this workshop Bonnie will provide a booklet with information about both watercolours and birds, and 3 bird portrait templates to work from (if you are a confident drawer there will be an option for you to draw your own). You'll also look at various watercolour techniques and have a chance to practice before using them to create a final watercolour painting.

In this workshop the price includes a watercolour kit valued at $35 so you don't need to bring any materials on the day.

This workshop welcomes all skill levels:)

About Bonnie Koopmans
Bonnie Koopmans is an artist, scientific illustrator and graduate of the Bachelor of Natural History Illustration at the University of Newcastle. Having previously completed a Bachelor of Communication Design, she is a great believer in the importance of illustration as a means for scientific communication, as it is able to represent nature both accurately and appealingly. With a steady hand and a bit of patience, Bonnie creates illustrations that represent these principles. She loves all aspects of nature but has a particular soft spot for insects and birds, both oft-overlooked backyard companions.
