Designed for beginners and those wanting to strengthen their skills, you'll learn the fundamental techniques that form the foundation of successful watercolour painting, including wet-in-wet, wet-on-dry painting and glazing.

Each lesson is inspired by the colours, textures and creatures of the ocean, creating a series of sea-life themed paintings while building your confidence with this versatile medium. Each week, we’ll apply these techniques in small, achievable painting studies, setting a strong foundation for your creative journey.

Lauren is a natural history artist specialising in botanical illustration based in the Lake Macquarie region. She seeks inspiration from the natural world and recreates that beauty using pencils, paper and watercolours.

Lauren has a Bachelor of Natural History Illustration (Grade I Honours) from the University of Newcastle. Her botanical art pieces are held in collections of the Sydney Florilegium Botanical Art Society as well as the Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh, US. Lauren is a member of the prestigious Sydney Florilegium and the Botanical Art Society of Australia.
