There's an art to ageing better!

Arts on Prescription is a series of creative workshops for people over 65 run by HammondCare. Professional artists work with you to explore a range of engaging visual arts activities.

You don’t have to be creative or have done art in the past - Arts on Prescription is for everyone!

Illness, injury, low vision and frailty are no barrier - our artists can tailor and adapt materials and processes so that everyone can enjoy themselves.

Developing your creative side improves your health and wellbeing, meaning you can enjoy a more positive, active life as you age.

If you require the support of a carer, you are welcome to bring them along. It's an opportunity for them to connect with you in a new and enjoyable way, and even experience benefits from taking part in the activity, like reduced stress and increased wellbeing.

Join Arts on Prescription to:

~Get a dose of creativity
~Make new connections
~Express yourself
~Challenge your mind
~Improve your motor skills
~Have fun

About HammondCare
About HammondCare
HammondCare is passionate about improving quality of life for people in need, with a special commitment to dementia care, palliative care and innovative research.

Our Christian motivation means we strongly believe in the intrinsic value of every person, providing care for people in need regardless of background, identity or circumstances.

We see and respect the whole person, not just illness or care needs. This compels us to always put residents, clients and patients at the heart of what we do, and continuously improve the care and services we provide.

Workshop Schedule

This class runs on Fridays from 2pm-3.30pm during the school term. You can join any time during the term and it doesn't matter if you miss a workshop - you only pay for the workshop you attend.

The cost per workshop is $60. If you have a Home Care Package or are accessing services through the Short Term Restorative Care Program, you can use these to fund the workshops.
