Geometry has been used to inspire art and design for centuries and across different cultures. The practice of geometry is also a tool for contemplation and meditation, with its inherent symbolism and rhythmic practice. It increases one's awareness of the archetypal shapes and rhythms found all around us, bringing a wonderful feeling of presence and deeper respect for our being, and its immensity of patterns, symmetry, and beauty.

In this eight-week series, you will be:
- guided through the construction of geometric shapes and patterns using a compass and straight edge;
- analyse and recreate decorative designs used in art, architecture, and by influential designers, with geometry playing a significant part in design composition;
- look at geometric forms in nature;
- explore philosophy and symbolism underlying geometry and colour;
- find inspiration through breath, contemplation and nature to create your own composition;
- be introduced to a number of design elements including line, shape, tone and colour, to complete your own painted design using watercolour, gouache, or pencil.

Join this workshop where we will work to a relaxed and meditative rhythm, finding freedom in flow, and flow in structure. This workshop is suitable for beginners aged 15+ and for those wishing to explore geometry as a design and mindfulness tool.
