Breathe new life into an old coffee table or stool by painting your own unique floral or nature-inspired artwork. Artist and teacher Kathryn deBoer-Ipsen will step you through the process of painting the top of your piece to transform it into something you treasure. She provides templates or she can help you adapt your own design. This is a small class which is ideal for beginners through to more experienced artists wanting to try something new.

About Kathryn deBoer-Ipsen
Kathryn has been teaching acrylic painting for over 20 years, starting out with folk art then venturing into her own style specialising in flowers and decorative art. She recently studied under renowned floral artist Jacqueline Coates in Adelaide. Kathryn predominantly paints on furniture, tables, doors and large canvases.


In addition to extensive teaching experience around Australia and New Zealand, Kathryn recently returned from 6 years living and teaching art in the USA. She sells her Artwork online at Blumbthumb online gallery and at the Tilgerry Art Gallery in Lemon Tree Passage.


She is passionate about upcycling, sustainability and helping students bring out their creative side.

Workshop Schedule

This is a 5 hour workshop with a 30min lunch break.

What to bring
Small wooden piece to paint on such as a coffee table, side table or stool. Note: If you have house paint or art paint, water based you can sand and base-coat the table beforehand in a pale colour such as white, grey or beige.
If you are unsure, don't stress we can do it on the day! A detailed materials list will be sent to you once you book in :)
