Join experienced art educator and professional artist, Susan Porteous, in 'Art Enable' workshops. Susan has over a decade's experience in art mentoring in the disability sector and provides workshops that offer an opportunity for people to come together socially to build skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.

These art enriching workshops are focused on enabling improvement in hand eye coordination and fine motor skills through the drawing process. In addition, whole body gross motor movement will be explored through the painting process. Art is for everyone and these workshops are all about nurturing personal achievement and promoting joy through learning new skills.

Classes run weekly (during school term), on Mondays from 2.30-4.30pm. The cost per class is $25.

Susan Porteous is a visual artist based in Newcastle. She has a postgraduate Fine Arts degree from the Slade School in London, a Diploma in Community Services gained at TAFE NSW and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment . Susan has extensive experience running arts programmes in Newcastle , and works with people with disability to provide opportunities for people to learn new skills and be artistically included in their local communities.Susan is a passionate advocate for people following their goals and dreams.

Workshop Schedule

Classes run weekly on Monday during the school term. The cost is $25per session. Please note: Hudson Street Hum is wheelchair accessible.

What you get:
New skills and expert guidance from a professional teacher and artist.
Tea/coffee and biscuits.

What to bring:
A3 watercolour pad, basic watercolour set and HB pencil.
Your teacher will let you know what to bring as your skills progress!
